Many people use hair extensions, and there are many types of hair extensions, such as clip hair, hair topper, hair weft, ponytails, tape ins, pre bonded hair, etc.
But there is no doubt that, the most popular hair extensions is tape ins.
So I wonder, do you really understand tape ins? Simply put, what is tape ins?
Tape-in extensions are a semi-permanent hair extension method consisting of a 4cm wide weft of hair secured at the top with a sticky tab that is attached to the hair. The adhesive used on tape extensions is a gentle medical glue the same as what is used in plasters and other medical forms.
The sticky part of the tape is covered by a paper tab that is easily peeled away when you are ready to use them, the sticky tab can be removed and re-taped with each use making this method not only super quick and easy but cost effective too. Tape extensions come in all different lengths and colours, they are also able to be cut to create smaller pieces for a subtle highlight effected.
Tape ins is reusable for multiple applications. Tape-in extensions are thin hair wefts, pre-taped, that get bonded in between your own hair and are bonded together like “sandwich” bonds. It is the most requested hair extension method in salons worldwide. This method is 100% natural, requires no tools or chemicals and takes less than an hour to apply.
Why choose tape ins?
Our hair is 100% genuine remy human hair with the cuticle intact. We use a newer manufacturing technology that results in soft, long lasting, mat and tangle free extensions.
While bonded extensions are attached to hair by tiny keratin bonds about the width of a grain of rice, tape-ins come in inch-wide bundles held together by ultra-thin adhesive strips. Because of this, your pro is able to cover more ground more quickly, which cuts down on both the length of your appointment and the price tag for their time and expertise.
You can wash your hair and get blowouts without ruining your seamless extensions. Our strong tape is extremely durable and lasts, as long as the scalp does not become excessively oily the bonds will stay. We have high quality tape that is strong. You can swim, workout, go on vacation, and not have to worry about your extensions slipping out.
They are so quick to put and easy to apply, lightweight and virtually invisible as they lay flat to the head. Also can help you transform your hair without causing any damage and looking more natural, pre-taped and ready to apply.
The biggest advantage of tapes is that as they are the lightest and least damaging type of permanent extension meaning they are suitable for all hair types from very fine hair to thick.
How to use tape ins?
Tapes are applied to the hair using 2 of the wefts sandwiched together with your own hair in-between. It is advised that the slice of hair in-between the tapes is very slightly smaller in width so that stray hairs do not hang out of the tab. The hair in-between the tape should also be of the same thickness as the tape itself to ensure the hair is able to hold the weight of the extension.
Some details that you may have overlooked require attention.
How to remove the tape?
We advise using oil based removers as they are kinder the the skin and hair.
To remove the tapes using the remover solution generously spray the top of the tab a few times, leave for 30 seconds then you should feel the tab starting to loosen. Gently pull the tape away from the hair, if the tape is being stubborn and feels very secure you can use the end of a pin tail comb to carefully prise the tabs apart. Once you have removed one side of the sandwich, respray and repeat for the underneath section.
What are the latest trend in tape ins?
Regular tape ins are very easy to wear. But if you apply it incorrectly, the tape on the top of the hair will be exposed. Extensions may slide over your own hair as your new hair appears or hair grows out. So you have to get rid of it or reapply it regularly. Be careful when removing the tape as it can damage your own hair.
When this kind of problem occurs more and more, most people are pursuing an ultra-thin invisible tape called injection tape ins.
Injection Tape Ins are designed to mimic hair growing from the scalp and made extra-thin be invisible for a more natural-looking and discreet extension than ever before.
Whether your hair is thin or fine, injection tape can help, they always stay flat and make your tape less noticeable.
Instead of spending hours in a hair salon, you can complete the installation process at home. We promise our hair is completely safe for the wearer, including those with sensitive scalps.
Another benefit of injection tape is that you can restyle it just like you would with biological hair. As long as your hair extensions are made of silk, you can straighten, curl or dye them. Style your hair the way you want without worrying about damage. But after styling, don't forget to take care of it so you can reuse it multiple times.
There is also a new product with wider flower injection tape ins, with more free width and self-cutting.
